Transfer of Power is proud to present the Big Boys Bumper Book of Bollocks! 100 plus pages of Comics and stories from the world of BLAGS. BLAGS follows the un-adventures of Elbows & Blud two Hapless ‘Leadheads’, apathetic radiation sniffers, who inhabit a world which has literally fallen apart. They smash around the crumbling concrete remnants of Britain in a nuclear-powered brick on wheels called the Deco Bug. The stories are rooted in a mix of 60’s underground comics and a more punky, cold war aesthetic… The radioactive freak brothers anyone? Conceived in the 1980’s at Watford College of Art by Richard Starzecki & Chris Mendham. BLAGS became a series of comics stories published independently by Richard in the ZOND anthologies of the 1990’s and by Chris in 1995’s ‘Big Bumper Nothing Special’. Alongside this Chris developed a puppet Animated short film made at the National Film & Television School. This premiered at the what is now the BFI Southbank London in 1994. Chris and Richard have collaborated since then on more scripts, plans for BLAGS Tv shows and more comics and after 40 years felt it was time to compile this body of work into a Big Bumper anniversary special.
